Ishimaru et al. reported the reaction of aldimines with 2-siloxybutadienes in the presence of triflic acid (TfOH) as a Brønsted acid catalyst furnished Mannich adduct. On the other hand, in our case using triflic imide, no Mannich adduct was observed.
