19. Data were taken for a range of pulse widths giving almost identical results; the shortest width gave the highest resolution and so is presented here.
20. The SAW velocity suggested by the resonant frequency of the transducers is not used, as this is affected by the mass loading caused by the transducer metal, giving a significantly lower SAW velocity beneath the transducer than elsewhere.
