It is noticeable that the W-Ge triple-bond length of 4-W-H does not differ from those of 4-W-X (X = Cl, I), despite the presence of a hydrido ligand which exerts a strong irons influence. This finding suggests that the σ-bonding part of the W-Ge bond, which is expected to be weakened in 4-W-H by the hydrido ligand, has a minor influence on the W-Ge triple-bond length.
