    • N-Vinylcarbazole (NVC) can be polymerized by both free radical and cationic polymerization, and it has not been successfully polymerized by anionic means, so far.

    • 13C NMR spectra of PNVC was reported by Karali, Froudakis, and Dais. Karali, A.; Froudakis, G. E.; Dais, P. Macromolecules 2000,33, 3180-3183. The aromatic rings of the carbazole in PNVC were not electronically equivalent due to shielding effects in the constrained configuration of the polymer. The signal at 4.9 ppm was assigned to the proton (1H) in the β-position from the nitrogen in the more shielded aromatic ring. The polymer chain was supposed to form a helical configuration.
