The effect of dobutamine on microcirculatory alterations in patients with septic shock are independent of its systemic effects
-
De Backer D, Creteur J, Dubois MJ, et al. The effect of dobutamine on microcirculatory alterations in patients with septic shock are independent of its systemic effects. Crit Care Med 2006; 34:403-408. A clinical study showing first, that microvascular blood flow alternations are frequently observed in patients with severe sepsis despite apparent adequate systemic hemodynamic stabilization, and second, that these microcirculatory alterations can be reversed by a dobutamine infusion.
