British bee data were compiled by S.P.M.R., M.E., and J.C.B. from data of the UK Bees, Wasps, and Ants Recording Society. British hoverfly data were obtained from the National Biodiversity Network (www.searchnbn.net), largely based on the Hoverfly Recording Scheme.
