    • These authors (PRBMDO 0163-1829
    • These authors (Kavoulakis and Baym) calculated Aphonon in the low- T limit. In Ref. we extended the calculation to nonzero temperatures and found Aphonon =const D122 [1+2f (ω12 kB TL)], where D12 is the relevant deformation potential and f (ω12 kB TL) is the occupation number of the optical phonon with energy ω12. Also we note that D12 =2.5 eV Å used by Kavoulakis and Baym to obtain a numerical value for Aphonon is much larger than the experimental value 0.12 eV Å by D. W. Snoke, D. Braun, and M. Cardona, Phys. Rev. B PRBMDO 0163-1829 44, 2991 (1991), leading to an inflated estimate for Aphonon. Our corrected value for Aphonon brings its predicted value below that of Adirect, which is now predicted to dominate for T>10 K (see Ref.).

    • We represent the band-gap shift up to third order as Egap (T) = Eo -a T2 +b T3 where Eo =2034.13 meV, a=0.0017 meV K2, and b=0.000 002 9 meV K3 (solid curve).
