    • Nanoscale particles, wires, and dendritic structures have greater surface areas than their bulk materials and are generally considered to be useful for catalytic, sensing, and electrode applications, etc., however, nanoparticles tend to aggregate easily, which hinders the interaction between them and their environment. Therefore, a microscopic dendritic structure should be much more effective than wires and particles for sensing and other device applications due to the large open channels between the branches and the nanoscale porosities within the structures, which may facilitate material transport.
