    • Biosketches Angela McGaughran is a graduate student at Waikato University, with interests in conservation genetics and phylogeography of invertebrates in New Zealand and Antarctica. Ian Hogg is a Senior Lecturer in Biological Sciences with research interests in invertebrate conservation and the use of molecular techniques for the biological identification of taxa. Mark Stevens has interests in aquatic and terrestrial ecology, and the application of molecular data to biogeography and conservation, including dispersal and long-term habitat fragmentation of invertebrates. Lindsay Chadderton is a freshwater ecologist working for the New Zealand Department of Conservation, with research interests in assessing ecological values, defining biodiversity patterns, and invasive species management. Mike Winterbourn is Professor Emeritus at the University of Canterbury, with research interests in stream ecology and the systematics and biology of freshwater invertebrates. Editor: R. M. McDowell
