    • Moore's law and the economics of semiconductor price trends
    • For decades, the computing industry has been driven by Moore's Law, which predicts that the number of transistors on a chip will approximately double every two years. For a detailed explanation of how Moore's Law evolved into a technology road map for the semiconductor industry, see Flamm, Kenneth. "Moore's law and the economics of semiconductor price trends." • Addison Wesley
    • In the early 1990s, Stuart Pugh developed the concept of "concurrent engineering" to accelerate the product development process by breaking down functional barriers. His innovative new model was laid out in his book, Total Design: Integrated Methods for Successful Product Engineering (Addison Wesley, 1991). Our model draws on Pugh's notion of concurrency, applying it in the research arena to achieve similar benefits.
