note
-
We used two checks to ensure the appropriateness of Pearson's r for these data. First, lag correlations were run testing for autocorrelation. The data indicate that autocorrelation is not a concern for either of the key dependent variables. Second, checks for seasonal influences were run by day of the month and month of the year. No significant or discernable patterns emerged suggesting there is not a seasonal effect on the measures of level of deviance, or headline and article valence.
