    • Prior to the present study, we were not aware of any reports of the use of well-defined cationic block copolymers as stabilizers for emulsion polymerization. However, during the preparation of the manuscript, the first such study was published (Ni, P. H.; Zhang, M. Z.; Zhuge, L. J.; Fu, S. K. J. Polym. Sci. Polym. Chem. 2002, 40, 3734). These workers used a novel ABA triblock copolymer to prepare polystyrene latex particles, albeit only at very low solids (2.0 w/v %).
