    • 2 in large excess (1 g) in 100 mL of distilled water then a HCl solution (0.2 M) is dropped on the mixture. The imino-nitroxyde is formed at the expense of the nitronyl-nitroxide. The progress of the reaction is followed by TLC on silica gel and addition of HCl is stopped when the reaction seem no more to evolve. The imino nitroxide is purified by extraction from the aqueous phase followed by column chromatography on silica gel
