Differential effects of Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease on the performance of mental rotation
-
Lineweaver TT, Salmon DP, Bondi MW, et al. Differential effects of Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease on the performance of mental rotation. J Int Neuropsychol Soc 2005; 11:30-39. Huntington's disease patients showed deficits in speed but not accuracy of response (on a mental rotation task), whereas Alzheimer's disease patients showed deficits in accuracy but not speed. The mental rotation task is of particular interest in this context, because it suggests psychomotor slowing in Huntington's disease is not simply attributable to motor effects.
