47. This solvent system dissolves every TCP substrate we have encountered. TCP cleavages can be effected either with or without a protic solvent. The stability of esters during the cleavage is highly solvent dependent. Of note, is the observation that the stability of esters is inversely proportional to the amount of MeOH or EtOH present in the reaction medium.
