    • The height of the large spike at P = 6.9 MPa is larger than that at P = 2.6 MPa; this is mainly due to the increase of the contact area.

    • Although we did not examine a systematic analysis of surface damage, we could say that the FAE-lubricated surfaces have a high resistance to damage compared with the AE-lubricated surfaces. We sometimes observed surface damage (production of mica flakes) for the sliding of the AE film, particularly after the large stick-slip/stiction spikes. However, we did not observe damage for the FAE-lubricated surfaces during the whole measurements.
