For reference, we note that a non-cross-linked solution 1: Zn, which contains only zinc(II) perchlorate in a 1:1 ratio with 1, exhibits a Newtonian viscosity with a very low intrinsic viscosity of ca. 5.7 mL/g, indicating the presence of very low molecular weight species (probably mainly macrocycles).
