The term acoustic streaming has been used historically to describe a steady flow generated by both the conservative and nonconservative effect of fluid oscillation, but it implies fluid compression that is not required for the conservative effect considered here. The term steady streaming is more appropriate for describing streaming generated by both mechanisms. An excellent perspective is given by in Ref
