A new approach for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation: Mapping of the electrophysiologic substrate
-
Nademanee K, McKenzie J, Kosar E, et al. A new approach for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation: mapping of the electrophysiologic substrate. J Am Coll Cardiol 2004; 43:2044-2053. This innovative approach to atrial fibrillation ablation, targets areas of complex fractionated atrial electrograms, that are known to correlate with areas of slowed conduction and pivot points of reentrant wavelets. At the one-year follow-up, 91% of the patients were free of arrhythmia.
