    • Two modes, the symmetric and antisymmetric C-C stretch, out of the 24 modes in acetone transform into translational motion upon primary dissociation. Hence, the simple statistical model (ref 50) predicts that on the average 1/12 of the available energy is partitioned into translational degrees of freedom.
