35. Vero cells were collected for TEM examination 16 h after irradiation during 15 min in the presence or not of compound 3. Cell monolayers were fixed in situ with 3% glutaraldehyde in 0.1 M cacodylate buffer, pH 7.3. Fixed cells were then pelleted and post-fixed sequentially with 1% osmium tetroxide in the same buffer and 1% uranyl acetate in acetate/acetic acid buffer, pH 5.0. The fixed specimen were dehydrated in ethanol and embedded in an Epon-Araldite mixture. Thin sections were contrasted with 2% aqueous uranyl acetate and lead citrate, observed and photographed
