    • Radiation from magnetic-dipole transitions should be preferentially emitted in the x-y plane, whereas the junction lies along the z axis from the sample. Nevertheless, we expect a substantial amount of the emitted radiation to reach the junction since both sample and junction are surrounded by a 1-inch-diam copper cylinder that lines the inside of the sample chamber and therefore acts as an overmoded waveguide for the radiation.
