We calculated the transverse field dependence of the tunnel splitting also by assuming that the S = 10 state arises by two weakly interacting spins (|∫| ≈ |D|),] and we found that the period of the oscillation increases for ferromagnetic interactions and decreases for antiferromagnetic interaction. However, the effect is very small, and it alone cannot be responsible for the deviation from Eq. (2).
