    • In computing the activation energy of a skyrmion or an antiskyrmion, one needs to know the chemical potential to remove or add an electron to the system (see Ref. 6). However, this problem does not exist as far as we consider a skyrmion-antiskyrmion pair because the number of electrons is unchanged. Thus, when we calculate the skyrmion energy, we actually consider the energy of a skyrmion in a well-separated skyrmion-antiskyrmion pair.
