47. 5-Bromo-2-methoxypyrimmidine is commercially available from Frontier Scientfic (ww.frontiersci.com). its synthesis is described in refernce 3b, by the reaction of 5-bromo-2-chloropumidine (ref. 4c) with sodium metoxide (0.5 M in methanol) at 20° for 1 day
48. Quantum chemical calculations have been reported for compound 7 (V. Barone, F. Lelj, C. Cauletti, M. N. Piancastelli and N. Russo, Mol. Phys., 1983, 49, 599) but we are not aware of a reported synthesis.
