    • The formation of both types of cyclopentenes, particularly the observed relative stereochemistry of 10-11, cannot be apparently understood on the basis of other accepted reaction pathways for cyclization of Fischer-type complexes, e.g. cycloprapanation-rearrangement, Diels-Alder cycloaddition wherein the metal alkenylcarbene acts as the 4π-electron partner, etc.
