Salt cress is a winter crucifer annual halophyte and closely related to Arabidopsis; both salt cress and Arabidopsis genomes share a high percentage of nucleotide similarity. Microarray analysis of salt cress RNA can be successfully carried out in Arabidopsis whole-genome arrays.
