vdW and 〈N-Ag-O 140-180°. Six hits are retrieved for motif VIII when the angle criterion is removed, but the primary motif in these structures is VII because a manual check shows that the Ag-N bond is short (2.1-2.2 Å), the Ag⋯O contact is long (2.8-3.0 Å), and the N-Ag⋯O angle is bent. Motif VII recorded 13 hits for linear geometry and 19 hits in all.

For data collection: λ (Mo-Kα) = 0.71073 Å, T = 293(2) K, Enraf-Nonius MACH-3 diffractometer, absorption correction with winGX, structure solution and refinement with SHELX-97, all H-atoms were fixed. H-bonds are listed with neutron-normalized geometry.

(b) Lincoln log cabin = small house built of logs notched at the ends and laid one upon another with the spaces filled with plaster, moss, mortar, mud, or dried manure. Log cabins are found especially in wooded areas where the construction material is easy at hand. In North America, they were built by early settlers and by hunters, loggers, and wilderness dwellers. Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home in Knob Creek, Kentucky, in the early 19th century was one such cabin; hence, the name Lincoln log cabin.
