It reports an increased risk of pregnancy-associated VTE among women with combined mutations.

Blood 2003; 102:3504-3513. A well designed study reporting that first early pregnancy loss is associated with increased levels of autoantibodies.

An excellent and comprehensive systematic review on the risk of FVL in pregnancy. It ties together the findings of numerous small studies to quantify the risk of suffering an adverse pregnancy complication in women with this hereditary polymorphism.
7. Volzke H, Grimm R, Robinson D, et al. Factor V Leiden and the risk of stillbirth in a German population. Thromb Haemost 2003; 90:429-433. A large, population-based analysis that examined the risk of stillbirth in German women with thrombophilia.
8. Hefler L, Jirecek S, Heim K, et al. Genetic polymorphisms associated with thrombophilia and vascular disease in women with unexplained late intrauterine fetal death: a multicentre study. J Soc Gynecol Investig 2004; 11:42-44. Small study which found no relationship between thrombophilic polymorphisms and intrauterine fetal death. Authors failed to state what intrauterine fetal death definition they used for their study.

This prospective trial was the first study in which previous pregnancy loss was not used as a comparison. Low-molecular-weight heparin was associated with a higher rate of live births in all women and also in each group with FVL, prothrombin or protein S deficiency.
