Frequency doubling technology perimetry was performed in 15 eyes of 9 patients with hemianopias or quadrantanopias. Frequency doubling technology perimetry failed to demonstrate abnormalities in three eyes, two with quadrantanopias and one with a hemianopia.

Stereo acuity testing may be an effective adjunctive test in patients with chiasmal syndromes.

A retrospective study of 36 patients with craniopharyngiomas showed that visual symptoms were the most common complaint. The average duration of visual symptoms prior to diagnosis was 10 weeks, and bitemporal hemianopias were noted in 16 patients.

A retrospective series of 18 patients with suprasellar meningiomas followed for at least 10 years after surgical treatment revealed that the long-term visual prognosis is good.
