Slow warming of the solution to -25°C followed by slow progression from -25°C to room temperature over a period of days afforded a brown-red solution. Slow diffusion of pentane (20 mL) into the solution afforded crystals of 2 in 62% yield. Anal. Calcd (found) for 2-2THF: C, 34.4 (34.31); H, 2.48 (2.80).
