    • 4 (97.6 mM in water, 1 mL) was mixed with tetraoctylammonium bromide (0.1 M in toluene, 4 mL) and toluene (4 mL). The mixture was stirred until the gold salt transferred to the toluene layer. The organic layer was then separated and dried using molecular sieve. The dried solution (1 mL) was mixed with toluene (4 mL) and TOP (20 μL). Lithium triethyl borohydride (1 M in THF, 1 mL) was injected into the mixture and the reaction was stirred in dark. The NP was precipitated by adding methanol. After separating the precipitate from the supernatant, it was redissolved in toluene. The precipitation-redispersion was then repeated once. The NP solution was diluted with 2-propanol (1:10 by mass) and used in the tetrapod modification immediately.
