25. In this paper, we leave aside the issue raised by the so-called Gettier problem. In a highly influential paper published in 1963, Edmund Gettier challenged the equation between justified true belief and knowledge. Given that Gettier raises issues that are both beyond the scope of our discussion and not particularly relevant to it, we shall take that equation as an anchoring point for our discussion.
