11. 2 (4 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 12 h. The solid was removed by filtration and the solvent was reduced to half of its original volume in vacuo. Nitro derivative 4 (0.1 mmol) and a catalytic amount of DABCO were added and the reaction mixture was stirred overnight. After removal of the solvent under reduced pressure the residual oil was purified by flash chromatography (ethyl acetate/cyclohexane).
