The reader may have noticed that the way Γ scales with the coupling parameter η is rather counterintuitive. A decoupling of ring and leads as η→1, leads to increased (diverging) level broadening Γ. Below we will analyze this renormalization in a more general context and will resolve the apparent contradiction.
