25. 5, between 5d and 4f electrons. This rather small screening on these quantities in solids are known to be appropriate from the analyses of spectroscopic data in transition-metal compounds. In addition the RXS spectra are not sensitive with changing these value as shown in Fig. 1, where the broken lines represent the results assuming a reduction factor 0.5.
