All data were corrected for Lorentzian, programs. SHELX-97 (Sheldrick, G. M. SHELX-97 Program for Crystal Structure Solution and Refinement; University of Gottingen: Germany, 1997) was used for structure solution and full polarization and absorption effects using Bruker's SAINT and SADABS matrix least squares refinement on F2. Hydrogen atoms were included in the refinement as per the riding model. Both enantiomers contain one molecule of ordered chloroform with full occupancy and another molecule of highly disordered chloroform with occupancy less than unity. The high R values despite data collection at low temperature could be attributed to the extensive disorder of the solvent molecule in 10a and 10b and extensive disorder of the end methyl group of the side chain in 10a.
