The survey was conducted by me as part of my doctoral dissertation, at the University of Haifa, on 'Political participation by the Arabs in Israel', under the direction of Prof Gabriel Ben-Dor of the Department of Political Science and Prof Majd al-Hajj of the Department of Sociology. The representative countrywide sample encompassed 768 respondents selected randomly using the Kish method. The sampling error was 3%-4%.

The survey, run by Prof Sammy Smooha of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Haifa, with my partnership, was conducted in September-October 1995 among a representative sample of 1200 Israeli Jewish respondents aged 18 and above. In parallel, a representative survey was taken of Arab citizens of Israel, with 1202 respondents above age 18. The sampling error is 3%. Both surveys investigated Jewish-Arab relations.
