    • Acidification treatment conditions may significantly influenced water uptake of sulfonated copolymers. According to ref 8, the water uptake of BPSH-40 treated by boiling conditions increased by 50% compared to that of BPSH-40 acidified at 30 °C. The acidification temperature used in this study (100 ° C) was chosen to investigate the effect of free water more clearly.
