    • note
    • Recent press reports have described continuous variable teleporation from the group of H. Bachor and P. K. Lam at the Australian National University. Unfortunately, there is no scientific manuscript on which to base an assessment of these claims.

    • note
    • 1→5 can be determined very accurately (to within 0.2%), given the quality of the OPO and mode-cleaning cavity transmission locks as described in Sec. IV A. It must be noted, however, that these error bars are derived from uncertainties in the photocurrent measurements, and do not account for any systematic offsets that may exist in th measurement procedure. In practice, we take care to eliminate possible sources of systematic offsets by performing the measurements under a variety of different conditions. These include measuring the visibilities at low to high optical powers, with and without the presence of the blue pump.

    • note
    • α was determined by directly measuring the output currents of the photodiodes while illuminated with laser light at 866 nm. The power of the light beam was recorded using three different calibrated power meters: Coherent Lasermate-Q (two unts), and United Detector Technology Model S370, and the results were consistent within the quoted uncertainty.
