This raises several interesting questions (John Smolin, private communication), that are not discussed further here, such as: If one wishes to teleport N quantum states, what is the overall teleportation fidelity for the whole ensemble if one used M known states to establish an isomorphism? What is the answer in the asymptotic limit of N, M → ∞? Can one reach perfect fidelity while letting the ratio M/N go to zero? If not, can M/N < 1 asymptotically in this case?

note
-
If there is a guarantee that Alice's and Bob's qubit bases do not change in time after they established the isomorphism and the entangled state with their quantum channel, then a phase standard would not be necessary. But of course this begs the question where the guarantee came from.
