15. Note that our phase and polarization scheme utilizes only linear polarizations oriented along either the x or the y axis. Moreover, it is insensitive to the relative phase between the two polarization axes. We thus circumvent several problems associated with the sensitivity of optical components to the polarization orientation, as discussed in Ref. [4].
