    • This term describing waviness is important in neutron scattering or reflectivity experiments, because the coherent radius in such kinds of experiments is typically much larger then the periodic spacing. As a consequence, the apparent segment profile across the interface sampled by the experiment is broader than the profile one would obtain with a flat interface.
