Particles are precipitated by adding ethanol to the dispersion. Cobalt nanoparticles with 7-nm average diameter are obtained by the gentle destabilization/redispersion procedure with a size distribution of σ∼5%. When increasing the concentration of the oleic acid and triphenylphosphine by a factor of 2, cobalt NPs of about 5 nm can be yielded.
