In some cases, it happened that we observed a reversible formation of an opaque layer on the surface in the course of an intense resonant irradiation to the highly excited states 6D of Cs or Rb [11]. We have attributed [R. Vetter, private communication] these effects, that make the SR spectra unreliable, to a residual gas in the vapour (most probably hydrogen)
