11. It should be noted that, similar to most deep levels in solids, the details of the physical models for NBOHC and, in particular, ODC defects, are still debated (see Ref. 1).
12. Understanding the nature of the 2.2-eV emission band is particularly important. Indeed, this band is effectively excited with ∼350-nm light, which corresponds to the third harmonic of the Nd:YAG and Nd:glass lasers, the current choice for large-aperture laser systems.
