note
-
The XRS is a precursor of a detector that will fly on the ASTRO-E2 mission, scheduled for launch in February 2005. The wealth of detailed structure in the x-ray line emission seen with the spare XRS detector from the ASTRO-E mission in the laboratory bodes well for cometary observations when ASTRO-E2 launches in 2005. The resolving power of the planned instrumentation may even double from that in the present measurements, and yet more spectral detail may be revealed.
