38. As a check, one of the dynamical simulations has been performed with smearing energies of 0.25 and 0.05 eV. No qualitative differences in the simulated trajectory have been observed. (See section IIID.)
39. The bulk properties of Pt are computed using 60 k points in the irreducible wedge of the Brillouin zone and expanding the Bloch functions up to a kinetic energy cutoff of 70 Ry.
