    • In the present experiment, the definition of porphyrin loading level (solution concentration) vs CEC is based on the number of charges on the porphyrin. Because these porphyrins have four cationic sites per molecule, 100% vs CEC means that the number of porphyrin molecule is 25% vs the number of anionic sites on SSA, and thus the porphyrins neutralize all of the negative charges on the clay surface.
