11. The fungus A. gracilis (Agricultural Research Service (ARS) accession number 2910) was obtained from the ARS Collection of Entomopathogenic Fungi (ARSEF).
12. The entomopathogenic fungus A. gracilis was fermented in Sabouraud dextrose broth supplemented with 0.5% yeast extract for 21 days in shake culture. The broth was separated from the mycelium by filtration and each portion was extracted separately.
